The Power of a Minimalist Approach to Skin Care
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of skincare products on the market? With so many options to choose from, it's easy to get lost in the sea of serums, moisturizers, cleansers, and more. As we get older, our skin requires more attention and care, but how do we know which products to choose? The answer lies in a natural and organic skincare approach that focuses on effectiveness. In this blog, we'll discuss the advantages of a minimalist approach to skincare, including fewer ingredients and scientifically-proven ingredients, and how it can help us achieve healthy and radiant skin. Less is More Approach By simplifying skincare routine, you can save time, money, and reduce the risk of skin irritation. Perfect for busy women who want to take care of their skin without sacrificing time or quality. Advantages of Fewer Steps in Skincare Routine: Time-saving: With fewer steps in your skincare routine, you can save time and make your routine more manageable. Cost-effective: Using fewer products can be more cost-effective, and you can invest in high-quality products that will give you better results. Less chance of irritation: By using fewer products, you are exposing your skin to fewer potential irritants, reducing the chance of adverse reactions. Easier to remember: With a simple routine, it's easier to remember what products to use and in what order. With fewer ingredients, you can target specific skin concerns more effectively, understand what you're putting on your skin, and avoid harmful or irritating ingredients Advantages of fewer ingredients in your skincare product: Reduced risk of skin irritation: Using products with fewer ingredients can reduce the risk of skin irritation, as there are fewer potential irritants present. Targeted benefits: By using products with fewer ingredients, you can target specific skin concerns more effectively. Less overwhelming: Fewer ingredients can make it easier to understand what you're putting on your skin and can reduce the feeling of overwhelm that comes with complex ingredient lists. Greater transparency: With fewer ingredients, it's easier to understand what each ingredient does and why it's included in the product. Pure & Cimple's minimalist and science-backed approach to skincare utilizes the benefits of fewer ingredients by carefully selecting pure and scientifically proven ingredients to deliver targeted benefits to the skin. "We highly recommend that customers take the time to read the ingredients list and look for scientifically proven ingredients" - Preeti, Founder of Pure & Cimple Why reading Ingredients list is important: 1. Ensure product effectiveness: By reading the ingredients list, customers can ensure that the product contains ingredients that are known to be effective for their specific skin concerns. For example, someone with eczema, rosacea should look for Prebiotics and Probiotics in the product to help with skin’s natural barrier. 2. Avoid harmful ingredients: Reading the ingredients list can also help customers avoid harmful or irritating ingredients that can damage the skin. Some ingredients can cause allergic reactions or sensitivity, making it crucial to know what to avoid. For example, someone with sensitive skin can look for products that are fragrance-free and devoid of known irritants. 3. Transparency: Looking for scientifically proven ingredients is also a sign of transparency from the brand. A brand that uses effective and proven ingredients will proudly display them on the packaging and website, making it easier for customers to trust the brand. By using fewer, but highly effective ingredients, Pure & Cimple's products are less likely to cause irritation and more likely to give you the results you're looking for.
Learn moreSLUGGING - Is It For You?
Skincare trends come and go, but one that has recently gained popularity is "Slugging." What is Slugging? If you're not familiar with this term, it refers to the practice of applying a layer of petroleum jelly, also known as Vaseline, on top of your regular skincare routine before bed. Proponents of slugging claim that it helps to lock in moisture and keep the skin hydrated, leading to a plump and glowing complexion. Some even claim that it can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While Vaseline has been used as a skincare product for decades, the trend of slugging has only recently gained traction, thanks in part to the rise of social media. Beauty influencers and celebrities have endorsed the practice, sharing their own slugging routines and before-and-after photos on social media platforms. But is slugging actually a good idea? The short answer is: it depends. On the plus side, Vaseline is an inexpensive and widely available product that can provide some hydration to the skin. It's also hypoallergenic, making it suitable for people with sensitive skin. Be Cautious One potential downside of slugging is that it can lead to clogged pores. Petroleum jelly is an occlusive agent, which means it creates a barrier on the skin that can trap bacteria and other impurities. When pores are blocked, it can lead to acne breakouts and other skin issues. Another potential downside is that petroleum jelly is not a natural product and may contain synthetic ingredients that some people may prefer to avoid. It's always a good idea to check the ingredient list of any skincare product, including petroleum jelly, and make sure it aligns with your personal preferences and concerns. Additionally, some people may find that petroleum jelly is too heavy or greasy for their skin type. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, slugging may not be the best choice for you. It's important to consider your own skin type and needs when deciding whether to incorporate slugging into your skincare routine. Personally, when I tried using vaseline at night, it felt as if I am peeling my skin off my pillow every time I changed side. And I was surprised how much was still on my face when I woke up next morning. Finally, it's worth noting that there is limited scientific research on the effects of slugging on the skin. While some people claim that it has benefits such as improved hydration and reduced fine lines and wrinkles, these claims have not been extensively studied or proven. It's always a good idea to approach skincare trends with caution and be wary of overly bold claims. Slugging may be good for short-term If you have tried and liked the effect please know that slugging is not a permanent solution. You may use it for short-term to help with skin dryness or damage. However, if you need this remedy beyond a few weeks, a few nights per week, you probably need something that is more specifically targeted to address the underlying reason of your condition.
Learn moreSolve dry skin in 7 tips
Dry skin occurs when skin doesn't retain sufficient moisture. It can be caused by ageing, an underlying skin condition like eczema, or environmental factors. Having dry skin can be uncomfortable and itchy but the good news is that that your skin can regain and retain moisture when you take care of a few simple things. Here are 7 tips to combat dry skin and bring back skin vitality: 1. Use humidifiers in winters. Central heating, fireplaces, and wood stoves can lower the humidity in a room and make your skin dry. 2. DO NOT take hot showers or baths. Limit yourself to one 5–10-minute bath or shower daily with lukewarm water. 3. Nourishing your skin is very important to keep it healthy, however, take care that you use gentle, fragrance-free skin care products. 4. Use oil-based balm/gel to cleanse your face. Soaps or soap-based cleansers strip away your skin’s natural oils. 5. Use a good quality Vitamin C serum in the morning before SPF. Vitamin C is a powerhouse ingredient, it protects and reduces free-radical damage, caused by environmental stressors, which is the underlined reason for skin dryness. 6. A good quality moisturizer is a no-brainer when it comes to dry skin. Choose a moisturizer with specialist ingredients like polyglutamic acid. It is a powerful peptide that naturally occurs in our bodies. It hydrates skin and draws moisture to the skin. This specialist ingredient holds water 5 times more than hyaluronic acid. 7. There’s no better way to end your day than with a good oil-based night serum. Look for natural, gentle ingredients. A good oil-based serum will not only provide hydration but will also repair daily damage caused by our environment to calm the stressed skin, giving a healthier plump look.
Learn moreWhat are Pre / Probiotics in skincare? Does Probiotic Skincare actually work?
As the largest organ, our skin’s health is as important as of any other organ in our body. Probiotics and prebiotics play a crucial role in maintaining skin health at all ages and especially for women navigating midlife as their skin is now much thinner than it used to be. They balance the skin's microbiome, promoting a healthy barrier against environmental stressors. By nurturing the skin's natural flora, they help reduce inflammation and enhance skin's radiance and resilience. Before we understand how prebiotics and probiotics can help our skin, we need to understand what the microbiome is and how it works. What’s skin microbiome? As strange as it may sound, there's a parallel world of microbiome that lives with us. Our skin is home to trillions of tiny, microscopic elements like bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and lots of other microorganisms. You may think they are impurities but they are actually your skin’s way of nourishing and protecting itself. What are Probiotics? Think of probiotics as the superhero bacteria that reside on our skin, acting as nourishers and protectors. These beneficial bacteria play a crucial role in strengthening our skin's natural defenses. By reinforcing the skin's barrier, they guard against harmful bacteria and help maintain the skin's pH levels. This not only keeps our skin well-protected but also ensures it stays balanced and healthy. What are Prebiotics? If probiotics are the superheroes, then prebiotics are their trusty sidekicks, providing the essential nourishment they need to thrive. Prebiotics serve as a food source for the good bacteria, ensuring that they can flourish and multiply. This support helps to cultivate a diverse community of beneficial bacteria, which is key to maintaining healthy skin. Without prebiotics, our skin's microbiome would struggle to stay balanced, leaving our skin constantly trying to catch up. Together, Probiotics and Prebiotics: Harmonizing the Skin’s Ecosystem Probiotics and prebiotics stabilize the skin’s microbiome balance creating a strong barrier that can withstand a variety of environmental stressors. They align closely with the skin’s natural processes, offering gentle yet effective support and promoting a balanced, healthy skin environment. Role of Probiotics and Probiotics in the skincare Our skin's health is important not only for the appearance, but also because our skin helps us build a barrier against irritants and allergens and does a big job in keeping us healthy. These stressors cause sweat, dirt and grime to build up and clog pores. Harsh facial cleansers and topical products deplete skin of the healthy or the ‘good' bacteria causing skin to inflame resulting in breakouts, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis etc. Most skincare products focus on treating the exterior of the skin with topical products to reduce visible problems like aging, acne, or discolouration, the results are nil or short term. The long-term solution, however, lies in treating the skin from the inside out. That is where the role of Prebiotics and Probiotics is. We're familiar with their benefits for gut health, boosting our immune system and organ functions. What researchers have realized is that these microbes also play a huge part in the vitality, appearance, and health of our skin. They utilize the nutrients that naturally occur in the skin to promote a healthy complexion. Ingredients that amplify the benefits of pre/probiotics in skincare In the realm of skincare, the efficacy of prebiotic and probiotic products is significantly enhanced when combined with certain complementary ingredients. Dermatologists often recommend and verify such combinations for their synergistic benefits. Key ingredients like hydrators, including Polyglutamic acid, Peptides and Ceramides—which are lipids identical to those found in the skin—play a crucial role. These components work to reinforce the skin barrier, creating an optimal environment for beneficial skin microbes to thrive. This synergy not only boosts the effectiveness of pre/probiotic skincare products but also promotes a healthier, more resilient skin ecosystem. Is the pre/probiotic skincare for you? Pre/Probiotics, being biomimetic, mimic the skin’s natural processes, balance the skin's microflora and bolster its natural defense mechanisms. Especially for those of us with sensitive skin types, these are particularly advantageous as they support and enhance the skin's natural flora and immune response, making them a perfect match for sensitive skin. Opting for fragrance-free pre/probiotic skincare products is the best combination if you have sensitive or delicate skin.
Learn moreTruth about fragrance in skincare
In our journey toward clean beauty, we've become increasingly savvy about identifying and avoiding certain ingredients: parabens, sulfates, and silicones often top the "avoid" lists. But there's one ingredient category that frequently flies under the radar despite potentially being more problematic than all of these—fragrance. What Exactly Is Fragrance in Skincare? When you see "fragrance," "parfum," or "aroma" listed on your skincare products, you're looking at a complex mixture of chemicals designed to create a pleasant scent. These can be synthetic compounds or natural essential oils. Either way, they serve no skin benefit—their sole purpose is to make products smell appealing. What many consumers don't realize is that "fragrance" or "parfum" on an ingredient list isn't just one ingredient but potentially dozens or even hundreds of undisclosed chemicals. Due to trade secret protections, companies aren't required to disclose the specific components that make up their fragrances. This lack of transparency means you could be applying numerous potential irritants without even knowing it. How skin reacts to fragrance? Fragrances in skincare products create their signature scents through volatile reactions. These same reactions that release pleasant aromas can trigger irritation and sensitivity in your skin. Research consistently shows that fragrances are among the most common causes of skin sensitivities and allergic reactions in cosmetic products. This sensitivity applies to ALL skin types—not just those with already sensitive or reactive skin. For mature skin, which naturally becomes more delicate and reactive after 40, fragrance presents an even greater risk. As estrogen levels decline during perimenopause and menopause, the skin's barrier function weakens, making it more susceptible to irritants. Is fragrance bad for your skin? The American Academy of Dermatology has identified fragrance as the leading cause of contact dermatitis from cosmetic products. Up to 35% of people report adverse reactions ranging from mild irritation to severe allergic responses. These reactions can manifest as: Redness and inflammation Itching and burning sensations Rashes and hives Increased sensitivity to other ingredients Exacerbation of existing conditions like rosacea and eczema Studies by the Environmental Working Group found that nearly 75% of fragranced products contain phthalates—chemicals associated with hormone disruption and reproductive issues. This is from just one class of the approximately 4,000 possible chemicals that could be in your synthetic fragrance. "What many people don't realize is that fragrance can cause damage at the cellular level, even when you don't see immediate visible reactions like redness or irritation. This invisible inflammation accumulates over time, potentially accelerating the aging process." - Dr. Christine J. Ko, MD, Professor of Dermatology, Yale University The Silent Damage: Long-Term Effects Even if you don't experience immediate visible reactions to fragranced skincare, these ingredients can still cause significant damage beneath the surface. Fragrance components can trigger inflammation at the cellular level—what dermatologists call "silent inflammation." This chronic, low-grade inflammation damages your skin's protective barrier over time, leading to: Accelerated collagen breakdown - undermining your skin's structural support Increased transepidermal water loss - causing chronic dehydration Compromised barrier function - making skin more vulnerable to environmental damage Heightened reactivity - creating a cycle of increased sensitivity Think of it like sun damage—you might not see the effects immediately, but years later, the cumulative damage becomes visible through premature aging, pigmentation issues, and increased sensitivity. Why is fragrance in your skincare then? Understanding the adverse impacts of fragrances on health, you would possibly wonder, with all the proven negative effects of fragrances - why would brands still include these in their products? 1. Sensory Marketing Humans form strong emotional connections to scents. Skincare companies leverage this by creating signature fragrances that become part of their brand identity and influence purchasing decisions. These pleasant scents create positive associations that keep customers coming back. 2. Masking Base Formulations Many raw ingredients essential for skincare benefits don't smell particularly pleasant on their own. Alpha hydroxy acids, certain peptides, and various botanicals often have natural odors that consumers might find off-putting. Fragrance helps mask these functional but less appealing scents. 3. Disguising Product Degradation An often-overlooked reason for fragrance inclusion is to hide the natural degradation of products over time. As natural ingredients break down with exposure to air and light, their scents can change—especially in jar packaging where the product is repeatedly exposed. Fragrances help mask these changes in smell that might otherwise alert consumers to product deterioration. At Pure & Cimple, we've addressed this issue differently—by using airless pump packaging that minimizes product exposure to air and light, helping preserve ingredient integrity naturally without needing masking fragrances. Essential Oils: Natural But Not Necessarily Safer Many brands have shifted to advertising "no synthetic fragrances" while still including essential oils. While these are natural, they can be equally—if not more—irritating to sensitive skin. Essential oils contain numerous compounds that can trigger reactions. For instance: Citrus oils (orange, lemon, bergamot) can cause photosensitivity, making your skin more vulnerable to sun damage Lavender and tea tree oils, while popular for their purported benefits, are among the most common triggers of allergic contact dermatitis Mint oils like peppermint can create a cooling sensation that actually indicates irritation Who Is Most Vulnerable to Fragrance Reactions? While everyone should be cautious about fragranced skincare, certain groups are particularly susceptible to adverse reactions: Women over 40 experiencing hormonal changes that thin and sensitize the skin People with existing skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis Those with asthma or respiratory sensitivities who may experience both skin and breathing reactions Anyone with a compromised skin barrier from over-exfoliation or harsh treatments Individuals with multiple chemical sensitivities who react to a wide range of substances Making the Switch to Fragrance-Free Skincare Transitioning to truly fragrance-free products can dramatically improve skin health, especially if you've been experiencing unexplained sensitivity, redness, or reactivity. Here's how to navigate the switch effectively: Read Labels Carefully Look beyond "unscented," which often means additional masking fragrances have been added to create a neutral smell. Instead, look for products explicitly labeled "fragrance-free" and double-check ingredient lists for hidden fragrance components like: Parfum/fragrance Essential oils (listed individually) Geraniol, limonene, linalool, citronellol (fragrance components often listed separately) Natural fragrance or aroma Make Smarter Skincare Choices Eliminating fragrance creates the perfect opportunity to make smarter skincare decisions. Choose products with purposeful ingredients that deliver targeted results without unnecessary additives. When each component serves a specific function, your skin receives exactly what it needs—nothing more, nothing less. This intelligent approach reduces irritants while making your routine more effective and your results more predictable. Prioritize Barrier Repair If you've been using fragranced products for years, your skin barrier may need support to recover. Look for products with: Ceramides to restore barrier function Niacinamide to calm inflammation Hyaluronic acid for non-irritating hydration Prebiotics to support healthy skin microbiome Expect an Adjustment Period Your skin may go through an adjustment period when switching to fragrance-free formulations. Some people experience a brief "detox" phase as their skin recalibrates without the masking effects of fragrance. Within 2-4 weeks, most people notice significant improvements in clarity, reactivity, and overall skin comfort. The Pure & Cimple Approach: Embracing Fragrance-Free Formulations At Pure & Cimple, we understand the delicate nature of skin, especially as we age. That's why all our products are completely free from fragrances and essential oils. The subtle, natural scent of our products comes solely from the functional ingredients themselves, offering a gentle experience even for the most sensitive skin. Our commitment to fragrance-free formulation goes hand-in-hand with our other core principles: Minimalist formulations with 12 or fewer key ingredients Focus on microbiome-friendly ingredients that support your skin's natural balance Ayurvedic wisdom paired with biomimetic science for gentle effectiveness Airless packaging that maintains ingredient integrity without needing masking scents By eliminating both synthetic fragrances and essential oils, we ensure our products work in harmony with your skin rather than against it, allowing its natural resilience and radiance to shine through. Your Skin Deserves Better Than Fragrance The skincare industry has conditioned us to expect and even desire scented products. Marketing creates the perception that fragrance equates to luxury or effectiveness. In reality, the most sophisticated and skin-respectful approach is to formulate without fragrance entirely. Your skin is remarkably intelligent and resilient when given the proper support. By eliminating unnecessary irritants like fragrance, you allow your skin's natural healing and regenerative processes to function optimally.
Learn morePolyglutamic acid : the wonder ingredient in your skincare
Let me start it right by saying that dehydration is the key reason behind most of the skin issues we face. Your skin feels tight so you assume it’s dry, if you get breakouts, you assume it’s hormones or reaction to something. However, research has shown that most of the skin conditions are symptoms of a dehydrated skin. Sensitive skin begin to inflame if it is dehydrated. Why dehydration is a big concern? Everything from sun, pollution, central heating/cooling, fireplaces, and wood stoves sap out moisture from your skin. When skin loses more water than it receives, skin gets dehydrated leading to plethora of skin conditions like itchy and dull skin, increased sensitivity, wrinkles and a lot more. If you are thinking I drink eight glasses of water everyday and it’s enough to take care of my complexion. That certainly helps but doesn’t make the cut for your skin. Whatever is your water intake, only a small portion reaches your skin. Our skin being porous, loses that water quickly. That means when it comes to skin, not only you should boost your skin cells with water but also minimize the water loss through your skin. And that’s where, Polyglutamic acid comes as a saviour, and a very efficient one. What’s Polyglutamic acid? First of all, do not let the word ‘acid’ scare you by thinking it’s a harsh chemical. Extremely gentle ingredient, polyglutamic acid originally found its use in wound healing. Polyglutamic acid is a byproduct of when you ferment soybeans. When lots of glutamic acid molecules (an amino acid) are linked together, this water-soluble peptide is produced by several types of Bacillus bacteria through fermentation. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and play very important role in skin’s structure. When used in skincare, polyglutamic acid gives incomparable strength to skin’s barrier. Check out what industry is talking about Polyglutamic acid And now, the main thing What does Polyglutamic acid do for the skin? Outstanding humectant : You may already be familiar with popular humectants—such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid. PGA joins the ranking as one of the most effective humectant with the ability to hold 4000-5000 times water of its molecular weight. A study in 2014 found that polyglutamic acid had a stronger moisturizing effect than collagen and hyaluronic acid. ‘Because of the cross-linking of the peptides in its structure, polyglutamic acid is capable of enhanced absorption of moisture and also increases the production skin’s own NMF (natural moisturizing factor)’ : source Sound Skin Barrier : Polyglutamic acid reinforces the skin's support structure to energize cells, stimulate lipid production and renewal of the epidermis. Because of its ability to form a smooth, elastic, self-moisturizing and soft film on the skin, this is the amazing barrier your skin needs. Stabilize hyaluronic acid : It may come as a surprise to you but hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in our body. Roughly half of it is present in our skin where it binds the water to retain moisture. However, like all essential nutrients, HA does decline with age, and is broken down by enzymes. PGA inhibits these enzymes so your skin is able to hold onto more of its own HA naturally. Why polyglutamic acid made the cut to our selection of minimalist ingredients? With all the research-backed skin benefits, Polyglutamic acid is produced through fermentation of renewable biomass, and is 100% non-toxic, natural and environmentally friendly and biodegradable. How to pick the right PGA product for you? READ READ READ the label before making a purchase. Check to make sure the product has been scientifically tested and has minimal preservatives. Look at the other ingredients listed to make sure they too agree with your skin. Learn moreDo you choose between natural products or products with active ingredients?
Your skin's health is as important, if not more than other organs in your body. There's no doubt that natural, safe, non-toxic ingredients are important to keep your skin in a good condition. However, as customers, you shouldn't have to choose between natural products or products with active ingredients that make a visible difference. Here are a few naturally active ingredients that can help you achieve happy healthy skin all year long. 1. Sunscreen It's possibly no marvel that sunscreen is number one on this list. If there's one product you can use, it ought to be sunscreen. By using sunscreen that has wide spectrum safety—which means it protects against both UV rays—and at least SPF 30, you could keep your skin healthy. The damage caused by the sun can lead to severe skin problems, from enlarged pores and skin cancer to cosmetic problems, like breaking down the collagen and elastin that keeps your skin firm and plump. Over the years, the collagen breakdown can lead to premature ageing, like sagging skin, wrinkles, age spots and melasma. On its own, sunscreen won't lessen the wrinkles or dark spots you already have, however, it will save you from forming more and defend your skin from issues like dehydration, acne etc. 2. Vitamin C Vitamin C is called the holy grail of skincare ingredients and rightly so. This incredible antioxidant, anti-inflammatory nutrient protects us against free radicals and environmental stressors that cause our skin to age prematurely. Vitamin C serum improves skin tone and texture, hydrate the skin, and reduce signs of ageing.A well-formulated Vitamin C provides so many benefits for healthy skin. There are a few things, however, that you should take care of while selecting a Vitamin C serum. a) The Form: 𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘊 𝘪𝘴 𝘓-𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. If you see any other name of Vitamin C in your serum, know that it's a derivative of Vitamin C. Studies have shown that the derivatives do not significantly increase levels of vitamin C in the skin and are not even recognized as vitamin C by our bodies. b) Concentration: In order for vitamin C to be truly effective in repairing signs of aging or give us other benefits, it must be able to penetrate and be absorbed by the body. Studies have shown that L-ascorbic acid should be at least 15 % to benefit the skin, and 20 % is optimal for absorption c) Packaging : Yes, the packaging is crucial to keep your vitamin C serum from going bad or ineffective! Exposure to air, light, and heat degrades your serum. Look for opaque, non-pipette packaging. Our superCerum is a pure form of 20% L-ascorbic acid, its unique design keeps the Vitamin C isolated from the potent emulsion. superCerum is activated FRESH only when you are ready to use it! Combining superCerum with your sunscreen can reduce damage caused by UVB rays and pollutants by 55%. d) Lactic acid Lactic acid is another, often gentle ingredient. It works similar to different chemical exfoliants to get rid of dust and dead skin cells—however, it tends to be easier on sensitive skin. Some products include a mixture of lactic acid alongside salicylic acid and/or glycolic acid so that you can nevertheless get the advantages of those ingredients with less of a chance for inflammation. e) Coenzyme Q10 Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful anti-ageing active ingredient, that protects the skin at the molecular level and reduces photo-ageing effects and reduces wrinkle depth.Q10 is a coenzyme naturally present in all body cells. CoQ10 produces energy in the cells to absorb nutrients and excrete waste from the skin cells helping in the regeneration and repair of skin cells. As we age, the levels of natural Coenzyme Q10 in our skin decrease. As a result, skin becomes prone to increased stress and damage, making it more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. That's why we have integrated Q10 in superRenew, it penetrates deep in your skin while you are asleep and helps your skin cells to get rid of impurities at their maximum efficiency, helping your skin cells to stay healthy. f) Ceramides Your skin is made from a few key compounds, together with skin cells and special types of lipids that surround them. These fatty acids or lipids makeup about 50 percent of the outer layer of skin and protect the skin. It's no surprise then that ceramides play a vital role in determining how your skin looks. With age and sun damage, skin's natural ceramides are depleted and your skin's barrier is compromised. A well-formulated skincare product like superSupple, is enriched with nourishing ingredients like ceramide NP to help reinforce your skin's barrier and increase hydration. As well, Saccharide Isomerate stimulates the synthesis of your skin's natural ceramides, giving you a lifted, sculpted look, and refined pore appearance for smoother, softer skin.

Learn moreSkincare Trend Shifts
We know that the skincare industry is an ever-evolving entity. Every year we see new trends, new skincare ingredients and new formulations make their mark. Though 2020 threw us for a loop (maskne, anyone?), one thing it did do was make us all hyper-aware of our skincare routines. We had a lot of time at home to check out our skin in the mirror in between zoom calls and many of us started paying more attention to the products and ingredients we use each day. So where is the future of skincare headed? We’ve narrowed down the trends for 2021 and beyond. Locally Sourced, Sustainable Ingredients This one isn’t a new trend but rather one that's on-pace to continue its exponential growth. Consumers are becoming more and more interested not just in the ingredients within the products themselves, but where they come from. Products using upcycled or recycled ingredients, a move towards packaging made from eco-friendly materials with a focus on sustainable practices in all stages of product creation from farming and manufacturing to shipping and beyond is the future of skincare. Brands will continue to invest in more eco-conscious practices as long as the consumers continue to hold them accountable. Skincare Ingredients Backed By Science Though “clean beauty” and “green beauty” have been forerunners in the skincare world for a good reason, consumers are beginning to learn that there was quite a bit of greenwashing going on. Natural products made with plant extracts and oils have plenty of benefits, Science, however, has helped us to identify the ingredients and their specific properties that help the skin heal & rejuvenate. Natural skincare ingredients that are backed by science are on the rise This trend is set to continue with consumers wanting to see skin care supported by scientific research existing in harmony with ingredients from nature. Skinimalism Hands down, one of our favorite skincare trends is the emergence of “skininmalism.” Simplified life leads to decluttered mind. It’s no different when it comes to skincare and beauty products. Skincare & beauty products made with minimal ingredients also offer our skin that same level of joy. Less ingredients, less chance of irritation! And more space for skincare ingredients to actually make a difference! Benefit: Your skin will be clearer because you’re not piling on tons of irritating, pore-clogging products every day. You’ll probably even find that you look younger without so much makeup on. On the whole, the trends we’re seeing in skincare are all about a marriage between well-balanced natural, botanical skincare ingredients that are backed by science and sourced locally and sustainably.
